The Parade Team consists of members of the GREENBELT DOG TRAINING's Intermediate and Advanced Classes conducted by ALLIE LEE. The owners have been taught how to train their own dogs with POSITIVE VERBAL PRAISE AND TOUCHING.

Some of the dogs have competed in obedience competition and earned AKC or AMBOR titles. Some have earned AKC Canine Good Citizenship certificates, and some of these dogs are THERAPY DOGS, going to nursing homes, hospitals and special schools.

The GREENBELT DOG TRAINING parade team has won trophies and awards in many parades around Washington, DC, and Rockville, Maryland. We participate in an average of SIX parades each year. This group of owners and their dogs also perform in obedience demonstrations in community events and schools (see "Calendar of Events)."

ALLIE LEE believes that TRAINING your dog makes even a GOOD dog BETTER and these dogs have definitely portrayed themselves as "the model obedient dog" in their community.

Please Note: Dave McNally is a long-standing participant in the Drill Team. Read his write-up on the Drill Team."Dave McNally Write-Up."

1st Prize Parade Director Award

The Greenbelt Dog Training Drill Maryland Team
Greenbelt, Maryland

Our parade team, led by trainer ALLIE LEE, marched in the Takoma Park, MD 2007 Independence Day Parade on July 4th, 2007. The large crowd viewing the parade loved seeing the marching dogs dressed in patriotic red, white, and blue bandanas. The Drill Team entertained the crowd with their marching and singing along the parade route. A few dogs even wowed the crowd with tricks during the marching parade. The Greenbelt Dog Training Drill Team added 1st Prize Director Award to its many titles.
