In 2005 Greenbelt Dog Training conducted 42 events in Maryland and
Washington, D.C. as well as 29 visits to Hosp. for Sick Children in Washington,
D.C:
- Sun. 01/30/05 RE-SCHEDULED for 02/06/05 due to weather cancellation
=> DEMO & SHOW, Fox Chase Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in
Silver Spring, Maryland, at 2:00 p.m. The demo will also feature our
canine dancing group the "ScentSations" and super dog tricks.
- Fri. 02/04/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:
"Animal Visitation Program" from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

its 119th Anniversary Parade and Festival in Hyattsville, Maryland at

- Sat. 04/23/05 DOG COUNSELLING CLINIC, invited by PEDIGREE
DOG FOOD at the Grand Re-Opening at the Kmart on Connecticut and Georgia
Avenues, Silver Spring, Maryland, between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Fri. 04/29/05 DEMO & SHOW, at the Hospital
for Sick Children in Washington, DC, at 10:30 a.m. The demo
will also feature our canine dancing group the "ScentSations" and super
dog tricks.
- Sat. 05/07/05 PARADE, Berwyn Heights Day Celebration
Parade in Berwyn Heights, Maryland, at noon. We will give a special
performance at the grand stand with our dogs doing tricks.
- Fri. 05/13/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:
"Animal Visitation Program" from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
- Tues. 05/17/05 We will participate in the Children's
Hospital SHOWCASE of the various therapy programs
offered at the hospitals. Department Heads and Staff will see our students
and their Special Therapy Dogs illustrating the Pet Visitation Program
that we provide to the patients and parents in the various playrooms.
The entire SHOWCASE will run from 11:00 to 12:30.
- Tues. 05/17/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:

- Fri. 05/20/05 DEMO & SHOW, Margaret Brent Regional School
for Special Students, New Carrollton, Maryland at 1:30 p.m. The demo
will also feature our canine dancing group the "ScentSations"
and super dog tricks.
- Fri. 06/03/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:
"Animal Visitation Program" from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Fri. 06/10/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at The Arc of
Prince George's County medical adult day care program for the disabled
and handicapped residents in Largo, Maryland. The Program is called
the "Bridges of Largo." The demo will feature canine dancing and super
dog tricks at 1:00 p.m.
- Sun. 06/19/05 DEMO & SHOW, at the Veterans Administration
Medical Center in Washington, DC, a "Father's Day Celebration" at 2:00
p.m. as part of the Recreation Therapy Program. The demo will also feature
our canine dancing group the ""ScentSations"
and special dog tricks.
- Fri. 06/24/05 DEMO & SHOW, Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, in the Atrium as part of the New
Horizons Program at 11:00 a.m.. The demo will also feature our canine
dancing group and special dog tricks.
- Fri. 07/01/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:
"Animal Visitation Program" from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Mon. 07/04/05 PARADE, Takoma Park 116th Independence
Day Parade. The theme this year is "Takoma Park: A Main Street Community"
in Takoma Park, Maryland, at 10:00 a.m.
- Mon. 07/04/05 DEMO & SHOW, at the Takoma Park 116th
Independence Day Festival. The demo will also feature canine dancing
and special dog tricks at 7:30 p.m. Immediately following our Demo,
Parade Awards will be presented and there will be a Fireworks display
at dusk.
- Fri. 07/29/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:

Parade, Kensington, Maryland, at 10:00 a.m. We will give a special performance

- Fri. 09/16/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:

- Fri. 09/30/05 ANIMAL VISITATION FOR CAREER DAY at Glenarden
Woods Elementary School, Lanham, Maryland, with several of our special
therapy dogs doing special tricks and will give information for care
and training of family pets at 2:00 p.m.
- Sat. 10/01/05 PARADE, 15th Annual Burtonsville Day
Celebration Parade, Burtonsville, Maryland, at 10:00 a.m. We will give
a special performance at the grand stand with our dogs doing special
tricks.
- Fri. 10/07/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:

- Mon. 10/31/05 DEMO & SHOW, Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, in the Atrium as part of the New
Horizons Program at 10:00 a.m. (Time is revised.) The demo will also
feature a "Halloween Theme & Costumes" with our canine dancing group
and special dog tricks.
Also, the costumed group of owners and their dogs are invited after
the demo to walk throughout the hospital as a parade unit for
the sick children to enjoy seeing the dogs. These children would not
be able to come down to the Atrium to see the show because of various
reasons.
- Fri. 11/04/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:

- Sun. 11/6/05 DEMO & SHOW, Animal Wellness Fair & Open
House, Glenelg Animal Hospital & Holistic Center, Cooksville, Maryland,
at 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The demo will also feature our canine dancing group
the "ScentSations" and super dog tricks.
- Tue. 11/15/05 TV SEGMENT ON ABC Channel 7 WJLA by Medical
Reporter, Kathy Fowler, who featured "Dogs in Hospitals." One of our
Special Therapy Dogs represented our group of dogs who are members of
the "Animal Visitation Program" at Children's Hospital in Washington,
DC. The segment showed that interaction between patients and therapy
dogs improves a patient's overall health.
- Fri. 11/18/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:
"Animal Visitation Program" from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Sat. 11/19/05 PARADE, 8th Annual Montgomery County Thanksgiving
Parade in downtown Silver Spring, MD, at 9:30 a.m. (Please note the
time change.) This parade will be on LIVE TV Channel 8.
- Fri. 12/02/05 ANIMAL VISITATION DAY with several of
our Intermediate/Advanced trained, special therapy dogs at Children's
Hospital, Washington, DC, as part of the Volunteer Services:
"Animal Visitation Program" from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Mon. 12/19/05 PET THERAPY VISITATION at National
Rehabilitation Hospital, Washington, DC as part of their
Volunteer Services Program. Several of our Intermediate/Advanced trained,
special therapy dogs will be visiting the patients from 2:00 to 3:00
p.m.
- Additional EVENTS during the year: Several of our Intermediate/Advanced
trained dogs that have become Special Therapy Dogs have conducted visits
several Thursday mornings each month at the Hospital
for Sick Children, Washington, DC, as part of their Recreation
Therapy Program from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Our special therapy dog team
has had 29 enjoyable visits with the beautiful children at this facility.
